Wagokoro Izumi

Kyoto Japanese Cuisine

A Michelin 2-stars Kyoto Cuisine Restaurant

Chef Masaki Izumi, who was said to be the best apprentice from the former renowned Japanese restaurant “Sakurada”, now runs “Wagokoro Izumi” which continues to be a Michelin 2-stars kaiseki restaurant since 2015.
An enthusiast of “Utsuwa”, Japanese tableware , Chef Masaki Izumi lives by the words “The utsuwa is a kimono for cuisine”. He goes on to say “Of course, the food is of great importance. However, the alcove where art or flowers are displayed, the tableware, the utensils and etc are everything that decorates the store and all of these make you feel the season. This is the spirit of Japanese Cuisine.”
An authentic and acclaimed store that holds three important requisites: cuisine, tableware and hospitality with dishes that embodies fish as well as meat in a well-balanced manner. Experience the richness of the four seasons of Japan at Wagokoro Izumi on your next visit to Kyoto.
